The last thing is bathroom fixtures, towel racks and so on. But the cheap crappy towel racks and tp holders and all that at HD or Lowes or whatever don't appeal to me. When it comes to shower hardware, are name brands generally worth the price premium over well-review Amazon items? Suggest buying from local plumbing supply store.

These things serve very basic functions and are unlikely to break or fail. Even if they do, they're easy to replace. Some of the cheapest hardware may rust prematurely (looking at you, terrible shower curtain rod).
