Some parks have public bathrooms, such as Washington Square Park, East River State Park (Williamsburg), Colombus Park, the Hudson waterfront parks. However these are very very unreliable, often they are locked up for no apparent reason, or like the Wash. Square.
park the bathroom closes arbitrarily early like 4pm. We are on vacation in NYC and this fact confuses us so much: Almost every fast-food joint either has its restrooms out of service or none anyways. The same goes for public restrooms.

How do people here manage to drink enough without being in desperate search for a restroom all the time? I just moved to Harlem from the burbs & most businesses usually had a bathroom. Most businesses in nyc don't seem to provide their customers bathrooms & there's very few public restrooms. It's no wonder the homeless have to go in the streets.

Reply reply throwitaway5226. If you have to use a bathroom, go to a department store I tend to find restrooms in restaurants very filthy. My go to public bathroom is Macy's on 34th.
